LIMITATIONS

This system has multiple limitations. One is the way it’s wired. The wiring demands that the Arduino is connected to a computer, which makes the system quite stationary and limited to the length of the wire between Arduino and pc. Another is that the current way of transferring data is to copy the serial monitor. This isn’t ideal. Both limitations could be solved by a battery for the first, and maybe an SD-card for the latter. This would make the system more portable and agile, while having an easy data transfer. Another limitation is the user interface, as it is not very user friendly at the moment.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion it is rather simple and affordable to build a system that measures distance, temperature, gyro values in 3 axes, accelerometer values in 3 axes and an estimation of the platform’s angle. The system works as it is supposed to, but there is still room for improvement.
